Local missions
- Conyers First UMC Ambassadors: The Ambassadors are a group of Conyers First members who visit residents of local nursing homes and assisted living homes every Wednesday.
- Saturday Meals on Wheels: Conyers First sponsors a ministry for weekend meals for shut-ins in Rockdale and Newton Counties. Over 200 meals are prepared, packaged and delivered on Saturday mornings.
- Lakeview Estates Program: Members of Conyers First donate items, maintain a clothes closet, and make contributions for needy families from Lakeview Estates. Children from Lakeview Estates are brought to Conyers First each Sunday morning for Sunday School and Worship.
- Ministry to Foster Families: An annual foster parents’ appreciation banquet is hosted by Conyers First. Members also donate needed items for foster children.
- Habitat for Humanity: Conyers First assists in building Habitat Houses in the community and also provides financial assistance and meals for workers.
- Rockdale Food Bank: Conyers First routinely conducts food drives to assist in replenishing the stock for the Rockdale Food Bank.
- Individual Crisis Ministry: Conyers First assists in meeting the needs of individuals in crisis.
- Health and Welfare: Conyers First routinely hosts blood drives, health fairs and participates in cancer relays.
- Great Day of Service: Home repair and construction for disabled and elderly people in Conyers area.
- Sandwiches for Homeless: Weekly, volunteers prepare sandwiches which are distributed to homeless people in Atlanta.
National & WORLD Missions
- Honduras Mission Team: Annual weeklong mission trip to Honduras. Sponsored by Honduras Outreach. Conyers First members adopt a village, teach in the local school, provide medical, dental assistance, teach Bible school and build and repair homes, latrines, water lines, etc.
- United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR): UMCOR reaches out to people around the globe who are undergoing hardship and suffering due to natural catastrophies or civil disruption, often to people who are already among the poorest in society. Conyers First supports UMCOR:
- -- One Great Hour of Sharing Offering
- -- Making gifts through UMCOR Advance Projects
- -- Providing kits for the UMCOR Warehouse to be shipped in urgent response to disasters and other needs throughout the World
- -- Working with the Red Cross to provide direct assistance in time of disaster
- Refugee Sponsorship: Conyers First is currently providing money to send two refugee children to school.
- Shoe Box Missions: Every fall Conyers First members fill hundreds of shoe boxes for Franklin Graham’s world-wide shoebox Christmas mission.

- Sierra Leone: International Person in Missions with the Conference Medical Program.
- Tre’ and Tory Sheppard: Serving in Harpenden, England with “The Factory,” and international ministry team of young people serving with Youth With A Mission.
- Mark and Krista Harris: Youth With A Mission in Kansas City, MO.
- Kirk and Nicole Sims: Missionaries in Ghana; helping Methodists in Ghana to empower their national leaders to bring awareness of need for missions. Check out more information at

- Derek and Amy Kirbow: Conduction various mission projects to Russian and the Middle East.
- Melissa and Seth Rogati: Young Life in St. Thomas, bringing Christianity to young teens.
