We Stand At the Crossroads of Decision ...
We are excited to be nearing our target goal for beginning our children and youth building and for making some key renovations and additions so our present facilities will be safer and more user-friendly for our congregation. While this will be a significant investment in the future of Conyers First UMC, it is a necessary investment if our church is to have a viable future.
The children and youth wings are the only areas of the church facilities that have not been renovated and updated. These important meeting areas for our children and youth are over 50 years old! Other renovations are also necessary in order to make the sanctuary accessible for worshipers of all ages, but especially for our elderly.
Many have given sacrificially to make this project happen, but we all need to join in now to make it possible to sustain the mortgage we will have after the building is completed. If we receive more significant gifts to the building program now, we can use that cash to pay down the size of the mortgage we will have to carry later.
Our children, youth, and elderly are all worthy of our best efforts to move forward with the new construction. As we do, excitement will grow within the congregation and community, which will show that Conyers First United Methodist Church believes in Olde Town Conyers and is here to stay and serve. Many new people will be drawn in and share the dream with us.
Those who have gone before have made significant investments to provide what we have been enjoying. Now it is our responsibility to rise up in faith and invest in the future of Conyers First. If we don’t, there will be no future.
I urge everyone to pray earnestly, give generously, and encourage others to give generously. Together, we can do great things through the Lord who strengthens us! Where our hearts are, Jesus said, we would put our treasure. Let’s invest mightily in our Treasure: our children, our youth, and our faithful elderly.
If we have faith and respond in faith to God, God will provide miracles.
Yours in Christ,
Larry Rary
